Where is my Tally file?
New files use the name Cash Flow.tally and are saved in iCloud Drive → Tally when iCloud Drive is available. You can choose another location and rename or move the file later.
Find your file in Finder on Mac or Files on iPhone and iPad. Open the .tally file to continue working with it.
How do I use the same file on another device?
Save your file in iCloud Drive, turn on iCloud Drive for the same Apple Account on each device, and open that file in Tally. Apple manages file availability and updates through iCloud.
If a change is missing, check your connection, iCloud storage, and the file’s status in Finder or Files. Confirm that you opened the same file rather than a separate copy.
What do the month and year totals include?
Totals include fixed amounts scheduled within the selected period. A month with three scheduled paydays includes all three, and an annual subscription is included in the month it occurs. Income minus expenses gives the period’s net cash flow.
Variable amounts stay in the list and are excluded from totals. These figures describe your schedule; they do not represent your current bank balance.
Can I add annual or custom schedules?
Choose Annually for a yearly subscription or bonus, Every two weeks for a regular payday, or One time for a single event.
Choose Custom… to set daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly intervals. You can select weekdays, dates, or a pattern such as the last Friday, and add an end date.
How do reminders work?
While adding or editing income or an expense, turn on Remind me, choose the timing and sound, and save. Allow notifications when asked. Monthly reminders need a specific date.
Reminders are scheduled privately on your device and can appear while Tally is closed. Delivery and sound depend on your notification and Focus settings.
Reminder settings are stored in your Tally file. Notification permission and scheduling are handled separately on each device.
How do I stop reminders before deleting a file?
Turn off Remind me for the file’s income and expenses, then save before deleting the file. Repeat this on each device where you enabled reminders.
Deleting a file while it is closed does not currently remove its saved reminders. If the file is already gone, turn off Tally notifications in System Settings on Mac or Settings on iPhone and iPad, and contact support for help.
What happens when I open a saved website?
Tally opens the address you added so you can visit the provider. On Mac, it opens in your default browser. On iPhone and iPad, your device may open the website’s associated app when supported.
You complete any payment or account action with the provider. Tally keeps the address as part of your schedule.
How does Tally handle my information?
Your financial information is stored in your files and, for enabled reminders, in local storage on your device. Tally does not send your financial files or app usage to Asher Bloom.
